Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of individual characteristics, competencies, and workload on the performance of nurses in Koja Jakarta Hospital. This research is a survey study using a questionnaire as an instrument and taken as many as 91 respondents who are nurses in Koja Jakarta Hospital using simple random sampling method. Data collection was carried out by giving a list of questions to nurse respondents at the Koja Jakarta Hospital. This research uses IBM SPSS 20 for windows linear regression analysis tool. The hypothesis is tested by t test and F test. The research results obtained the following conclusions: (1) The partially individual characteristic variable (X1) doesn’t have a significant effect on the performance of nurses (Y) which is indicated by a significance value greater than 0,05 (0,140 > 0,05) and tcount less than ttable (1,489 < 1,987). (2) The partially competency variable (X2) has a positive and significant effect on the performance of nurses (Y) which is indicated by a significance value smaller than 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) and tcount greater than ttable (6,181 > 1,987). (3) The partially workload variable (X3) has a positive and significant effect on the performance of nurses (Y) which is indicated by a significance value less than 0,05 (0,035 < 0,05) and tcount greater than ttable (2,138 > 1,987). The results of the test feasibility model (Ftest), simultaneously the individual characteristic variables (X1), competence (X2) and workload (X3) have a positive and significant effect on nurse performance (Y) which is indicated by a significance value less than 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) and Fcount is greater than Ftable (36,305 > 2,709). Individual characteristic variables (X1), competence (X2) and workload (X3) are able to explain the nurse performance variable (Y) by 55,6% and the remaining 44,4% can be explained by other variables not included in this research model
